TeenWorks is committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children and teens online. This page explains how TeenWorks complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and how we handle personal information for users under the age of 18. Intended age range
TeenWorks is intended for teens ages 13–17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without appropriate authorization, we will promptly delete that information.
Parental consent
For users under the age of 16, TeenWorks requires verifiable parental or legal guardian consent before an account can be fully created or personal information is submitted.
Parental consent may include steps such as providing a parent or guardian email address, confirmation links, or other reasonable verification methods.
Information we collect from teens
Depending on how the service is used, TeenWorks may collect limited personal information, such as:
- Name and email address
- Age or date of birth (to confirm eligibility)
- City, state, or ZIP code (for local job matching)
- Profile details provided by the teen (such as availability or interests)
- Communications sent through TeenWorks
How information is used
Personal information collected from teens is used only to:
- Provide and operate TeenWorks services
- Match teens with appropriate job opportunities
- Verify accounts and improve safety
- Communicate with users and parents when necessary
TeenWorks does not sell personal information of minors.
Parental rights
Parents and legal guardians have the right to:
- Review personal information collected from their child
- Request corrections or updates to that information
- Request deletion of their child’s personal information
- Withdraw consent at any time
Data security
TeenWorks uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect personal information. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we work to limit access to personal data and reduce the risk of misuse.
